In his speech Mr. King's use of repetition is phenomenal. His use of repetition nicely complements and builds the emotions that he stirs in his audience. For example, when he says, "We can never be satisfied as long as the Negro is the victim of the unspeakable horrors of police brutality. We can never be satisfied, as long as our bodies, heavy with the fatigue of travel, cannot gain lodging in the motels of the highways and the hotels of the cities. We cannot be satisfied as long as the Negro's basic mobility is from a smaller ghetto to a larger one. We can never be satisfied as long as our children are stripped of their selfhood and robbed of their dignity by signs stating "For Whites Only". We cannot be satisfied as long as a Negro in Mississippi cannot vote and a Negro in New York believes he has nothing for which to vote. " The repetition in this quote enhances his argument that the Negro has an unfair disadvantage and has no way to advance in his society. He drives this point by giving examples that cannot be denied, like when he says that, the children are stripped of their dignity by signs stating "For Whites Only". Its statements like this that really showcase how disinviting America's society was at that point in time.
Using that same quote, we can observe his exceptional use of pathos as well. He appeals to the audience's emotions by exposing all the situations and hardships that the Negro had to deal with on a daily basis. He sympathizes with the Negro that wants to advance in society, but the only advance he or she can make is to a larger ghetto than he already lives in. He acknowledges the frustration that the Negro feels when he or she reads a sign that says "For Whites Only". He brings out the anger that the Negro feels when the officers that are meant to protect and serve the people, are only brutalizing them. Dr. King acknowledges the hopelessness and how discouraged the Negro must feel when he or she cannot vote or have nothing to vote for. All of these examples are there to speak to the audience on a more personal level strengthening his speech.

My answers to the tough questions!
Q. Do parents ever pressure their children to achieve? Why do you think so?
Q. What are some of the conflicts that parents and children have?
Q. Do you feel that people can be anything they want to be?
Q. Do all conflicts have a winner?
Q. Compare your relationship with your parents to Chinese children's relationship with their parents in China.
A. This is really a given, if a parent never pressures their child into doing anything, the child might grow lazy and not feel any responsibility or have any drive.
Q. What are some of the conflicts that parents and children have?
A. Parents and children collide on many things. I know my mother and I disagree whenever she is telling how to do something the right way and I try to be stubborn and think that my way is the right way. That among other things like curfew, who to date, and the child's career choice are some things parents and children may disagree on.
Q. Do you feel that people can be anything they want to be?
A. Well maybe not anything, but I do wholeheartedly agree with the idea that anybody can pursue anything he or she wants to do or be. I say not anything because a person can not become something illogical, for example, a child says he or she wants to become an astronaut that is something that child can do with hard work and dedication, though say that child said, he or she wanted to become a Pokemon, that is not something that child can achieve no matter how hard he or she tried.
Q. Do all conflicts have a winner?
A. Not every conflict has a winner. It could even be said that plenty of conflicts end in compromise. International conflicts for example almost never have a winner, but ends with a mutual agreement between both parties.
Q. Compare your relationship with your parents to Chinese children's relationship with their parents in China.
A. From what I have seen in the videos that my teacher Mr. Rease has showed me, what I have seen in my own experiences, and the sterotype that is associated with how chinese parents treat their children, I can say that my relationship with my mother is similar in the way that she has very high expectations of me. However other than that it is almost completely different.

There Is Always Room For Improvement
One thing I can and will say is that writing is one of my strong suits. Not in the sense that I'm near perfect at it; it's just the fact that I love to do it, and in my own opinion can put out some pretty decent works. I will admit one thing that I am certain of is that my conventions are shabby and could use slathers of work. I say that I have poor conventions because most of the time I have trouble knowing where to put a comma or where should I be using a semi-colon; this is a problem with me being the partial perfectionist I am I sit there and think about it for a longer period of time that I should. In turn, this leads to me taking more time than I should thinking about this one thing when really I should have been done or at least close. Other areas I feel could use some hard grinding are in organization, ideas, and word choice. My reasoning behind saying those areas is because sometimes if I don't proofread and catch it, my writing could be all over the place and not really have a main topic, rather several of them. Organization is sometimes another problem, not because I struggle with it, I sometimes just take to long to decide how I want my works to be structured; I kinda threw in word choice because when I'm doing a timed-written assignment I tend not to think about my choices in words and just put down anything. All I can do to work on these areas is to be more impulsive and not overthink it, this will most definitely be achieved with my teacher Mr. Rease timing everything, all I got to do is my best in his class. Though I do see a lot of areas I could work on, one area I am truly confident on is my voice, I feel like this area is one of my more reinforced areas because I take so much time, it enables me to think about what i am writing and put what I truly mean down and add my personal twist to it. Yo, but that's it for me though I am just realizing how long this is, sorry Jaylin, that's all I have for this post. This has been Brandon Rhodes, signing out. Peace out peeps.

Intro to the kiddo
Alright, hey everybody My name is Brandon Cervantes Rhodes. I am a junior in high school at Ben C. Rain. Fun fact, me and the school both have the same initials, isn't that something? I am also the section leader of the trumpets in the the B.C Rain SOS band. My expectation this year is to basically be a successful model student. My brother, Christian Aubert, is a freshman here at my school and I want to make sure I can be an example of what good student in high school can be- even though I'm not sure he'll notice in all honesty. Besides him, I live in a house right by Navco Park along with my mom, kid sister, and another younger brother. My hobbies are watching and making YouTube videos as I am a content creator, playing and listening to music, and competitive battling on Pokemon showdown. Another hobby of mine is connected directly to the career path I have chosen to take, writing stories. Yes, when I grow up I want to be a world renowned Screenwriter and have many successful titles for everyone to enjoy. Well, that is the kid in a nutshell, I look forward to being in this class and learning a lot. This is Brandon Rhodes signing out. Peace Out Peeps!
